Southwold 3rd Jan ’21
3rd January 2021 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm£85
Join me as I host monthly one day Southwold Photography Workshop on the beautiful ‘Suffolk Heritage Coast’. Southwold, the quintessential English seaside town, complete with promenade, pier, lighthouse, beach huts, harbour, expansive greens and wonderfully unique architecture, is our location. My Southwold photography workshop is designed to introduce and develop both beginners and intermediates to the next levels of photography. Following an introductory presentation, we will work locally on the development of your observational skills, completed by a feedback critique. The afternoon session will start with a simple presentation, demonstrating the creative benefits of setting up your camera beyond ‘Auto’. For those working with ‘Smart-phone’ technology, we will concentrate more on the aesthetic decision making and composition.
Jonathan Dayman, Colchester said of my Southwold photography workshop: “A super day with Roland. I’m a semi-professional photographer and I still learned some very useful things – and it made me re-think how I approach my photography. He’s very knowledgeable and puts it all across in an easy to understand way – the elements of what makes for a good photograph, together with the technical aspects of how a camera produces them. Overall, recommended, especially if you are a relative novice and simply want to take better photographs. For you, this is pretty much ideal.”
Carly Barker, Stowmarket Suffolk said: “I attended a day course with Roland after I had been given a Canon EOS 80D for my birthday. Having had no photography training, I was completely outside of my comfort zone when I attended the course. However, any nerves I had were very quickly laid to rest when Roland welcomed me on the day. It became clear very quickly that Roland’s teaching experience, photography knowledge and artistic eye were a perfect combination to gain a good foundation of skills to put into practise. I had a great, relaxed and interesting day in a beautiful setting with a brilliant group of people. I have a new found love and appreciation for photography and I will definitely be back when I am ready to learn more!”
